Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) Level 3 Diploma

This is a recognised qualification for people working in the Childcare sector with children and young people aged 0-5 years (with a working knowledge of 5-7 year olds). It covers the skills required by an Early Years Educator and you will study topics such as partnership working, providing effective teaching and implementing the Early Years Foundation stage. This will improve your employment prospects and enable you to work in a variety of childcare settings with children under 5 years old. This course starts on the following dates: 19/09/22, 31/10/22, 02/01/23, 20/02/23, 17/04/23, 05/06/23. Entry requirements:, You must be 18 or over, and if you do not have a Level 2 qualification in maths & English prior to the start of the course, you need to pass an initial assessment to confirm your academic ability. You need to have basic ICT skills to complete the electronic portfolio; if you require some help with your IT skills, please let us know. You need to have at least one year’s current experience working with children and/or have an existing relevant Level 2 qualification. As you will be assessed in the workplace, you are expected to remain in the same childcare setting (on a voluntary/paid basis) for a minimum of 14 hours per week, for the length of the course. We will obtain a reference from your employer prior to you starting the course. If you are employed, and unable to attend the day class, you can attend an evening session on alternate weeks from 5-8pm. You will need to be very self-motivated and will be expected to do significant self-study. If you are volunteering, you will be expected to attend the full day every week from 9am-4.15pm. Please note, to practise as a fully qualified Level 3 member of staff, you need to have a Level 2 in maths and English (this is either Level 2 Functional Skills or GCSE grade 9-4 (A*-C)). You may wish to progress on to the Leadership for Children’s Care, Learning & Development Level 5 Diploma.
