WHY CHOOSE THIS COURSE

At Shipley College, we offer an excellent Horticulture Short Course Level 2 with an emphasis on food and vegetable growing. This course is designed for anyone interested in developing their practical skills and knowledge in horticulture, including career changers, self-employed professionals, and those already working in the industry. It is also a great progression from our Practical Level 1 qualification.

Throughout the course, you will learn how to analyse your growing area from soil to site, prepare for planting, and develop sowing and planting skills to get your garden blooming this summer. Assessment is through a series of short practical tests, including written and observational assessments.

Completing this short course can lead to exciting employment opportunities in garden maintenance, landscaping, plant nurseries, and more. Alternatively, you could progress onto the Horticulture Level 2 Diploma course.
