Tour de Yorkshire in Saltaire

Shipley College staff and students geared up to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Society, the official charity partner of the Tour de Yorkshire 2017.  Bradford Council organised knitted hats and saddles for the four lions and one of our creative members of staff crocheted bespoke bunting.

Entertainment based outside Victoria Hall and in the Jonathan Silver Building included:

  • A ‘Sponsored Ride the Tour’ activity where people got on an exercise bike and rode a mile or two towards the total distance of the tour.
  • A great vibe created by live music courtesy of our Music Department staff and students.
  • The chance to create a pedal powered healthy, nutritious fruit smoothie
  • Tasty hot sandwiches, homemade cakes and drinks from our very own Café Vélo run by students and staff from college.

We all enjoyed it and thank you to everyone who came down and joined in the fun to raise money for this important charity.
