IS IT FREE FOR ME?
Free courses at Shipley College are available if you meet certain eligibility criteria. You may be able to study for free if you are currently receiving benefits and actively looking for work, or if you are in employment and earning less than £25,750 per year (this may be £25,000 depending on your postcode). If you don’t meet the criteria for fully funded courses, you may still be able to get financial support through the Learner Support Fund. This can help with costs such as travel or childcare if your household income is below £25,750 (or up to £30,000 for travel and childcare support). To check your eligibility or apply for support, please contact Student Services on 01274 327281 or email studentservices@shipley.ac.uk . To qualify for free courses, you may need to provide evidence depending on your circumstances: • Universal Credit – evidence of payments from the last 3 months and a signed self-declaration form • Jobseeker’s Allowance – evidence of your benefit and a signed self-declaration form • Employment and Support Allowance (work-related activity group) – evidence of your benefit and a signed self-declaration form • Not currently working but claiming eligible benefits – a signed self-declaration form confirming the course will help you gain employment • Employed or self-employed earning under £25,750 – recent payslips (last 3 months), a P60, or an employment contract showing your income • Carer’s Allowance – evidence from the DWP and a signed self-declaration form

Courses take place at Shipley College from Monday to Thursday evenings, giving you a structured and supportive environment to learn alongside others. If you prefer, many courses can also be studied online at a time and pace that suits you.
