WHY CHOOSE THIS COURSE

This is ideal if you have completed an Intermediate Apprenticeship or Childcare Level 2 and would like to work with children aged 0-5 (with a working knowledge of 5-7 year olds).
It covers the skills required by an Early Years Educator and you will study topics such as partnership working, providing effective teaching and implementing the Early Years Foundation stage.
This will prepare you to work in childcare roles such as Early Years Practitioner and Room Leader. Successful completion of this qualification will help you to secure work and potentially progress in to a management role.

Entry requirements
You must be 17 years or over, and must have a minimum of Grade 4 in English (or functional skills Level 2) and Grade 3 in Maths (functional skills Level 1) . Also, you will be required to have a minimum of 1 year’s relevant industry experience and/or a Level 2 qualification in Childcare. You must be employed as an apprentice in an Early Years setting for a minimum of 30 hours a week (this will include one day in College per week). If you are not employed already the College will support you to find a suitable employer, where you will be required to attend for an interview. You will require a clear Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at the start of the course.
Progression Information
After your apprenticeship, you can study further at college or university, or use the skills and experience you have gained at work to progress in your career.
