SUCCESS FOR SHIPLEY AT HARROGATE FLOWER SHOW!
Students from Shipley College have once again demonstrated their exceptional creativity and industry-standard skills, achieving major success at this year’s Harrogate Flower Show.
Competing against some of the best emerging talent in the country, Shipley College students secured an impressive collection of awards, including a Silver Award for their large-scale group display, alongside multiple individual category wins.
The centrepiece of the College’s showcase, titled “Madame Lunaria”, was a striking and imaginative interpretation of the show’s theme, “All the Fun of the Fair”. The installation stood out for its creativity, technical skill and artistic flair, earning praise from judges and visitors alike.
In addition to the group success, students achieved:
• 3 First Place awards in individual categories
• 1 Third Place award in an individual category
The Best Individual Student Entry was also awarded to Rebekka Kill.
This continued success builds on Shipley College’s strong track record at Harrogate Flower Show, where students have consistently achieved top honours in recent years — reinforcing the quality and reputation of the College’s floristry courses.
Sally Brewster, Floristry Tutor at Shipley College, said:
“Both students and staff work incredibly hard and we look forward to the show every year. It’s our biggest opportunity to be creative, collaborate and really push ourselves — so to see that effort recognised like this is fantastic.”
The achievement reflects the dedication of the students and the expert guidance of the teaching team, including tutors Sally, Anita and Vanessa, who supported the learners throughout the process.
Shipley College continues to offer students real industry experience, giving them the opportunity to showcase their work on national stages and prepare for careers in the creative industries.
