HUNDREDS OF FUTURE STUDENTS GET A HEAD START AT ONBOARDING DAY
Hundreds of future Shipley College students got their first taste of college life as they attended the College's Onboarding Day – an exciting event designed to help them feel confident, connected and ready to start in September.
The event welcomed students who have already accepted their place at the College, giving them the opportunity to meet tutors, make new friends, explore the campus and experience the supportive and friendly atmosphere that awaits them.
Students from courses including Health and Social Care, Childcare, Esports, Digital Design, Fashion, Art, Textiles, Media and Content Creation took part in a range of engaging activities throughout the day.
Creative students also benefited from exclusive workshops delivered in partnership with Screen Yorkshire and industry professionals. They explored the creative process behind film production through interactive challenges before taking part in hands-on content creation workshops led by digital content creator Tee Hogan.
The event also gave students the chance to experience Shipley College's unique campus in the heart of Saltaire, helping them become familiar with their new surroundings while building confidence ahead of their first day.
The day marked the beginning of an exciting journey for students, with Future Fest still to come – a celebration of fresh starts, big ambitions and the opportunities that await.
A Shipley College spokesperson said:
"Starting college is a major milestone and we want every student to feel excited before they even walk through our doors in September. Onboarding Day is all about helping students settle in early, meet their classmates and tutors, and experience the welcoming community that makes Shipley College such a special place to study.
"Today's event was just the beginning. Everyone is excited for Future Fest."
