ANNA DIXON MP BRINGS LOCAL BUSINESSES TOGETHER AT SHIPLEY COLLEGE
Last week, Anna Dixon MP brought Shipley businesses together to discuss plans to support them by creating a workforce ready for the future.
Hosted by Shipley College, the event was attended by more than a dozen community business leaders spanning industries such as technology, retail, manufacturing, and social care.
A spokesperson for the College said: "We were delighted that Anna chose to hold her business breakfast at Shipley College.
“It was a great opportunity to show local employers how teaching and learning is changing with our immersive classroom environments, and to share the different ways they can support skills development of their future workforce."
As part of the morning, Shipley College was able to officially launch the brand new 'Employer Endorsement Scheme'.
This initiative recognises College partners' 'exceptional commitment to nurturing the next generation of talent...through high-quality work placements', with Czajka Care Group in attendance to receive one of the first awards.
Speaking following the business meet-up, Anna Dixon said: “The Shipley Constituency is home to many talented people and innovative businesses. It was great to gather so many here today at Shipley College to discuss plans for supporting local business and listen to what more can be done to help them grow.
“I would like to thank everyone at Shipley College for hosting us today. Businesses can't prosper without a skilled workforce, and it's great that we have such a brilliant Further Education institution in the area. I encourage all businesses to work with the College to ensure the skills and training offered meet their needs for the future.”
