WHAT WE CAN DO FOR YOU

Here at Shipley College we know how important it is to work closely with local businesses. We want to be your first port of call when it comes to developing your own current staff.

We also want to provide mutually beneficial opportunities for you to meet our students, assist with their employability, and be first in the queue to explain the benefits of your sector and your company to them.

After all, we want our current students to become your future skilled workforce.

There are loads of ways to achieve this. You could take on apprentices, T-Level students or supported interns as low-cost or no-cost ways of getting new talent into your business.

You could offer masterclasses, employer visits or short work placements as part of a course that is relevant to your sector; or you could even become the endorsing employer for one of our courses and directly influence what gets taught on that course!

SHIPLEY COLLEGE GUIDE FOR EMPLOYERS

"HERE AT RPC, A FAST EXPANDING IT CONSULTANCY BASED IN GUISELEY, WE HAD A REQUIREMENT TO BOOST OUR WORKFORCE."

"Apprenticeships wasn’t a route we had initially considered. It seemed like it might be a nightmare to organise, but using Shipley College made the whole process very easy.

From advertising the jobs, receiving CV’s, placing the students and all the paperwork involved, this proved to be a well oiled process within the college. Once on-boarded, we were kept informed on progress, both through the on-line portfolio application and regular visits from Shipley College personnel. It was always our intention to offer any apprentices a full-time position and I’m pleased to say this has worked out successfully for both RPC and the apprentices.

For the record we have taken on two IT apprentices, one Digital Marketing apprentice and a T-level placement. It is our intention to recruit again later this year and we will have no hesitation in reaching out to Shipley College once again."

– Peter Gable, Director, RPC
