APPRENTICESHIPS 16+

An apprenticeship is not like a job - it is a job!

Apprenticeships are a great way to earn while you learn and get trained as you go. It's not just a training program, it's a real job! You will spend four days a week with your employer and one day at Shipley College, learning the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for your role.

Doing an apprenticeship can be a brilliant springboard into your chosen field, giving you industry experience, knowledge, and confidence all in one. However, being an apprentice requires commitment and dedication, but it is very much worth it! You will get paid throughout the apprenticeship, and many apprentices are taken on by their employer permanently at the end of the program.

Since it is a job, apprenticeships are available to anyone over the age of 16 and can begin at any time of the year. If you are interested in this program, please have a look at our vacancies board below. If you find anything of interest, we can guide you through the application and interview process.

“I AM VERY PROUD OF HOW MELISSA HAS DONE DURING HER APPRENTICESHIP BOTH AT COLLEGE AND AT WORK, SHE HAS PERFORMED TO HIGH STANDARD THROUGHOUT, AND IT HAS BEEN A PLEASURE TO MANAGE HER THROUGH THIS PERIOD."

"I myself was an apprentice at Shipley College over 7 years ago and afterwards managed to secure a position at Bradford District Care Trust. I have now moved on to a management role, which I would not have been able to achieve without an apprenticeship. Seeing it from the other side and being Mel’s manager whilst she completed her apprenticeship has been extremely rewarding,
it has been great to see how she has developed over the last 18 months."
