Getting Work Ready - Travel & Tourism Students Hotel Takeover!
One of the things we’re most proud of is our commitment to getting students work ready. Throughout the year our students go out on work placements with local employers so they can gain an insight into the working world and help prepare them for their futures! We’re excited to be showcasing this in our series #GettingWorkReady.
Recently our Travel & Tourism students took part in a week-long work placement at the Great Victoria Hotel. During their stay, the students gained valuable hands-on experience in various hotel departments, including reception, sales, housekeeping, food and beverage, duty management, and even the general manager role.
They worked from early mornings until late evenings, immersing themselves in the hotel operations and developing essential skills in the hospitality industry. This experience will prove invaluable as the students prepare for their future careers in the hospitality sector, particularly as Bradford gears up to become the City of Culture in 2025.
