Photo Hub 5

Creative Media students at Shipley College have been taking their skills to the next level by working on a series of real-world client projects, gaining valuable industry experience while giving back to the community.

This has included creating campaigns and promotional videos, to briefs set by prominent local organisations - all excellent experience for their CVs and future careers.

Our thanks to our partners at Space Hub Yorkshire, Care Dynamics Yorkshire and Photo Hub North as we work together to address the future needs of Bradford's thriving media sector.

Space Hub Yorkshire 2

Showcasing Yorkshire's Space Industry

In collaboration with Space Hub Yorkshire (SHY), the UK Space Agency funded regional Space cluster, students are producing a series of promotional videos to raise awareness of the burgeoning Space sector in Yorkshire.

The series, entitled ‘Space Hub Yorkshire’s Guide to the Galaxy’ includes features on local companies like Radio Design and Slipstream Design, both based in Shipley. Students also conducted an interview with Professor Ifiok Otung, a leading international figure in satellite communications and the Professor of Space Engineering at the Bradford-Renduchintala Centre for Space AI, at the University of Bradford. The completed videos will be launched in June and showcased by Space Hub Yorkshire at Space conferences throughout the UK and internationally.

Glenn McCauley, Board Member for Space Hub Yorkshire said The whole of the Space Hub Yorkshire team have been overwhelmed by the quality of the materials produced by the students and the professionalism and attention to detail demonstrated by them all. They are a real credit to the College. We have received fantastic feedback from our partners and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend students from Shipley College’s Creative Media course to any other business. I wish them all well in their future careers in the creative industry.”

Care Dynamics 1

Supporting Exceptional Care

Continuing a successful partnership, students are creating video content for Care Dynamics Yorkshire, a local care provider known for its exceptional standards.  Projects include a heartwarming "Day in the Life" video highlighting the support one of their clients receives, a committee meeting video capturing customer feedback to shape the organisation's future, and a welcoming introduction to their new office space.

Carlo Moorhouse (Head of Care & Support) at Care Dynamics said

“We are delighted to continue our evolving partnership with Shipley College, helping us to meet our essential strategies for innovation, customer engagement and empowering communities. The students have once again demonstrated enthusiasm and expertise beyond their years, displaying their personal, professional, and technical skills throughout each of the projects.”

Photo Hub 3 (1)

Promoting Sustainability Through Art

Shipley College is partnering with Photo Hub North (also co-hosted by the Impressions Gallery, Bradford) to promote their exciting "Creative Earth: Eco Photo & Arts Festival."

Students are developing a campaign to raise awareness for this one-day pilot festival designed for the community, with environmental sustainability at its core.

"I am delighted to be working with students from Shipley College," said Lisa Holmes, founder of Photo Hub North. "Connecting with the local community and supporting the next generation of artists is exactly why I founded the Photo Hub. Photography is an amazing way to express yourself and I think everyone should have access to that. The students have been fantastic and I think their contribution to the festival will be invaluable."
