Read MoreI have worked in finance for 30 years however a visit to the Chelsea Flower Show inspired me to take my interest in flowers to the next level. I am very passionate about British grown flowers and want to use them as much as possible in my arrangements, as well as one day being able to start growing my own. Having done the 3 week ‘on-a-budget’ course and the 6 week contemporary course at Shipley College, I wanted start the Level 2 qualification course. After the course, I would like to continue on to the Level 3, even though I still see myself as a ‘hobby Florist’ rather than doing it as a career.
Jacqui, 51, Floristry BTEC Level 2 Diploma (Part-time Students)
I have been passionate about flowers since I was young and would consider myself a bit of a ‘flower nerd’. Following a recommendation from a friend who completed this course last year, I saw this as a way to turn my passion in to a career. This course has helped me learn new skills to work in floristry. I have worked as a free-lance florist in the USA, however as I learn more about the British flower industry I am finding it very different. I would like to progress on to Level 3 Floristry to refine my skills and knowledge and continue to work in floristry.
