Offering more than just books...
The Learning Resource Centre at Shipley College is for everyone on a course or apprenticeship. Our helpful, friendly team of staff are always ready to offer help and advice. The LRC provides a ‘one-stop-shop’ for information, computing, study and coursework presentation requirements.
There is a flexible learning environment with individual and group study work areas where you can access books, magazines, newspapers, DVDs, online resources and the internet.
The LRC has mobile technology available to support your learning including, laptops, voice recorders and video and still cameras, which are all available on loan using your College ID badge. We also have equipment available to support students with additional learning needs.
Just remember, you will need your College ID badge to borrow our resources. We look forward to seeing you!
The Study Centre offers PC and internet access for researching and completing assignments. Students may have sessions timetabled in to the Study Centre, or you can access it on a drop-in basis in your free time.
The Study centre at Shipley College is staffed by IT Facilitators, who can help with any IT or study skills queries you may have.
The LRC is also home to the Saltaire Archive and supports the local history club.
The Saltaire Archive is a unique collection of pictures and artefacts of life in Saltaire that includes books, newspapers, Salt family memorabilia, maps, plans, illustrations etc on the history and present development of Saltaire.
