Student races into 3rd place in Tour de Yorkshire's Junior Category

On May 6th, Shipley College student Reece Green took 3rd place after completing the Maserati Tour de Yorkshire Ride route in 6 hours, 31 minutes and 24 seconds. Reece, a Level 3 Software Development & Programming student, endured 128km (80 miles) of tough Yorkshire roads and hills before being awarded the medal, beating six other cyclists from the under 20 category.

“I was passed down a bicycle from my dad who is a keen cyclist. He gave me my first mountain bike aged 9 and then my first road bike aged 14. Since then I have always loved cycling because I get to see the fantastic scenery Yorkshire has to offer and be part of Yorkshire’s great cycling tradition.”

He now plans to take part in The Wharfedale Ton next month, a 100-mile charity cycling event involving professionals riding through beautiful Yorkshire countryside. Good luck Reece!
