Congratulations to our part-time Floristry students, for winning the Silver Award at the Harrogate Spring Flower Show with their album cover inspired display.
The students chose to evoke Vivaldi’s ‘Four Seasons’ violin concertos, written c1716. They decorated a rhythmic curve shape with flowers and foliage for Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn. These included Hellebores, Amaranthus, Delphinium, Allium, Ornithogalum, Eremerus, Anigozanthus, Eryngium, Veronica, daffodils, Tulips, Scilla and Muscari. Flowers were intertwined with moss, birch and twisted willow.
Moss was used to cover a music stand which and a gate was covered with Ivy.
Congratulations also go to Gillian and Karina in the individual entries for their first places, to Laura for her second place and all past students who gained various awards at the show.
