This qualification is based on the National Occupational Standards for youth work and supports the skills & knowledge needed to become a competent Assistant Youth Support Worker. You will gain an understanding of the key purpose & role of youth work including the skills, knowledge, qualities & values required to practice; safeguarding in a youth work setting, including keeping safe online; young people’s development & how youth work can support adolescents; and working with challenging behaviour. Optional units include: Employment Rights & Responsibilities, Anti-discriminatory Practice and Supporting Young People with Disabilities & Additional Learning Needs.
