T Level in Digital Production Design & Development Level 3

T Levels are a brand new 2-year technical qualification, developed in collaboration with employers and businesses. They are designed to help you progress into highly skilled employment, a higher apprenticeship or university. This qualification is equivalent to 3 A-Levels. You will spend 80% of your time in College and 20% (45 to 60) days on an industry placement with an employer to make sure you gain real hands-on experience in the workplace. You will study how programming is used in business and industry, focusing on security and emerging technological trends. Once you have learnt how to design software solutions and program in various programming languages, you will then design a digital solution for a project set by an employer. Throughout this project you will use your skills to analyse the problem and design, implement and test software to provide a working solution. You will also learn how to change, maintain and support software. You will learn how to create software in social and collaborative environments and how to discover, evaluate and apply reliable sources of knowledge. We also show you how to apply ethical principles during this process and how to manage risk, in line with legal and regulatory requirements. You will also have 45-60 days in an external industry placement with an employer, which will ensure that you develop and deepen your technical knowledge and skills, as well as behaviours appropriate for a professional Programmer.
