This is a recognised qualification for people who work with or want to work with school age children. It covers the skills required by a Teaching Assistant and you study topics including supporting learning activities, supporting assessment for learning plus equality, diversity & inclusion. It will improve your employment prospects and enable you to work in education settings with children and young people from year 1 upwards. This course starts week commencing: 31/10/22, 02/01/23, 20/02/23, 17/04/23, 05/06/23. Entry requirements:, You must be 18 or over, and if you do not have a Level 2 qualification in maths & English prior to the start of the course, you need to pass an initial assessment to confirm your academic ability. You will need to have completed and passed your Level 2 in English and Maths before the end of the course to receive your Qualification. You need to have basic ICT skills to complete the electronic portfolio; if you require some help with your IT skills, please let us know. You need to have at least one year’s current experience working with children and/or have an existing relevant Level 2 qualification. As you will be assessed in the workplace, you are expected to remain in the same childcare setting (on a voluntary/paid basis) for a minimum of 14 hours per week, for the length of the course. We will obtain a reference from your employer prior to you starting the course. If you are employed, you could study one morning per week with your school's permission.You will need to be very self-motivated and will be expected to do significant self-study. If you are volunteering, you will be expected to attend the full day every week from 9.30am-4.15pm. You may wish to progress on to the Leadership for Children’s Care, Learning & Development Level 5 Diploma.
