Develop the professional knowledge, skills and confidence necessary to work in this sector or to support an interest in working in adult
social care. Topics include: communication, the role of the social care worker, handling information, health & safety, person-centred care,
safeguarding and duty of care.
On this intensive course, you need to have a good level of English and need to evidence a Level 1 English qualification or above however
you will take an assessment on the first day of class and the course tutor will make a judgement based upon current English ability and
skills. You will need to attend classes two days per week - Monday and Wednesday.
After successfully completing this course, you could progress into paid or voluntary work in adult social care. If you wish to progress on
to the Care Level 2 Diploma, you will need to have recently completed a minimum of 140 hours of work experience and then maintain a
minimum of 14 hours a week during the course.
