Develop your love of music and turn it into a career! Gain skills in areas such as production, sequencing, composition, sound for film, live sound techniques and event management. You will also explore the structure of the industry and develop the listening skills required by music technologists.
Throughout the course you will undertake a number of practical projects, including planning, recording mixing and mastering a studio recording. You will also get the chance to organise events, where you can perform live in front of an audience to showcase your talent. We support and encourage students to gain work experience. In previous years, students have hosted events at local venues, worked at local festivals and entered competitions.

4 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English & maths. If you do not have grade 4 or above in both subjects, the minimum for the other subject is grade 3 or a full Level 2 at Pass grade or above with maths & English grades equivalent to those stated above. Students with grade 3 in either English or maths will be expected to re-take that subject in Year 1.
Demonstrate your musical talent to a panel of music tutors. You will be invited to a ‘taster’ session to find out more about the course.
After the course, you can study at college or university at a higher level in Music Technology, or use the skills and experience you have gained to progress further in your career in the Music Industry. An exciting future awaits!
