Music Technology BTEC Level 2

If you have a passion for music, this course gives you a great introduction to many aspects of the music industry. It helps you to manage a music product by developing practical music technology skills and production techniques. You explore musical composition, computer systems used by musicians, sound effects and musical recording. You can also perform at lots of College events including ceremonies and end of term celebrations. Plus you get the chance to gain experience of working as a stagehand at a local festival.

• 2 GCSEs at grade 3 (D), to include English. Maths must be at grade 2 (E) or above. or A full Level 1 at Pass grade, plus a GCSE grade 3 (D) or above in English. • Attend ‘taster’ sessions to find out more about the course. • Demonstrate a positive attitude and a keen interest in music. • Have an interview and further assessment to check the course is right for you.
On successful completion of the course, you may progress on to the Music Technology BTEC Level 3 course, one of our other Level 3 courses or an apprenticeship. You could also go in to employment as part of a promotions team, a roadie, or trainee DJ. You may even form your own band!
