You will build up your expertise in landscape gardening & management, as well as plant propagation and the care of trees. You will learn how to select which plants to use and when to plant them, growing plants from seeds or cuttings.
The course is a mixture of classroom-based theory and practical hands-on experience, focusing on teaching you the skills needed to be a professional Horticulturist. You will visit garden centres, public parks & gardens, plus complete a work experience placement to help you develop your skills, confidence and knowledge of the industry.

4 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English & maths. If you do not have grade 4 or above in both subjects, the minimum for the other subject is grade 3.or A full Level 2 at Pass grade or above with maths & English grades equivalent to those stated above. Students with grade 3 in either English or maths will be expected to re-take that subject in Year 1. A keen interest in working outdoors and with plants would be ideal for this course.
