Essential Digital Skills Qualification (EDSQ) Gateway Level 1

This qualification is suitable for those with very basic experience of using digital devices and the internet, or those who are in employment and are looking to develop their basic digital skills. It provides you with good evidence that you understand the basics of essential digital skills suitable for the work place. This course is a good starting point to learn basic digital skills.

The course will cover all five skill areas which are set out in the national standards.These are:

• using devices & handling information
• creating & editing
• communicating
• transactions
• being safe & responsible online

By completing this qualification learners will gain knowledge, confidence and experience in using digital skills to obtain work or advance an existing career.

Next steps will be to progress on to L1 Award in Introduction to Programming, Level 2 Award in Cybersecurity or if you wish to have a career path in Business Administration, then the Level 2 ICDL Award in User Skills will be a good option!
