This is a recognised qualification for people wanting to work with babies and young children 0-5 years (with a working knowledge of 5–7-year-olds). This qualification allows you to be counted towards the Level 2 ratio as a qualified Level 2 Early Years Practitioner within the Early Years Workforce. The course covers topics such as supporting routines for babies & young children, promoting play in Early Years Settings, supporting babies & young children to be physically active and supporting the needs of children in preparing for school. This course starts on the following dates: 19/09/22, 31/10/22, 02/01/23, 20/02/23, 17/04/23, 05/06/23. Entry requirements:, You must be 18 or over, and able to evidence an English qualification at Level 1 or above, as this course requires a good level of English. You need to have basic ICT skills to complete the electronic portfolio; if you require some help with your IT skills, please let us know. You need to have recently completed a minimum of 140 hours of voluntary or paid work experience in a childcare setting before starting the course. As you will be assessed in the workplace, you are expected to remain in the same childcare setting (on a voluntary/paid basis) for a minimum of 14 hours per week, for the length of the course. We will obtain a reference from your employer prior to you starting on the course. After successful completion, you may wish to progress on to a Level 3 qualification.
