Join our taster course and learn how to create Indonesian inspired textiles using the ancient art of Batik. These fabrics have been around for approximately 200 years and are believed to have originated in Asia. This class will teach the skills of Batik which is a way of dyeing fabric, using wax to protect parts of the fabric so as to not absorb the dye. This creates marble-effect patterns on the fabric and can be used for a variety of products. These new and exciting series of short day taster sessions are aimed at those who wish to explore a new subject whilst gaining confidence. The classes are suitable for beginner and intermediate levels, and will help you learn new skills and techniques. All materials for these courses will be provided.
