Adult Care Level 2 Diploma (Thursday)

This qualification supports you to develop the skills required to work in a range of clinical healthcare support settings and in adult care environments. There are mandatory & optional units; the optional units allow you to choose from a variety of areas to tailor the qualification to reflect the context of your work. It covers a wide range of areas including dementia awareness, mental health & wellbeing, as well as supporting individuals with their physical & emotional care, daily living needs and healthcare procedures. Topics you study include safeguarding, the responsibilities of a care worker, duty of care, the handling of information, personal development, equality, inclusion, and person-centred approaches. It will improve your employment prospects and enable you to work in a variety of Health & Social Care settings. Start dates are week commencing: 07/11/22, 09/01/23, 06/03/23, 24/04/23, 05/06/23. Entry requirements: You must be 18 or over. To be able to evidence a Level 1 English qualification or above, as this course requires a good level of English. if you do not have a Level 1 qualification in English prior to the start of the course, you need to pass an initial assessment to confirm your academic ability. You need to have basic ICT skills to complete the electronic portfolio; if you require some help with your IT skills, please let us know. You need to have recently completed a minimum of 140 hours of voluntary or paid work experience in a Health & Social Care setting before starting the course. You will be assessed in the workplace, and ideally stay in the same Health & Social Care setting (voluntary/paid basis) for a minimum of 14 hours per week, for the length of the course. We will obtain a reference from your, employer prior to you starting on the course. After successful completion, you may wish to progress on to a Level 3 qualification. Your tutor can help advise on the best options available for you based on your current workplace/career goals.
