Governance

Since colleges were first incorporated in 1993 through the Further & Higher Education Act, Shipley College has been fully responsible for its own governance, management and administration.

Under this arrangement, the Principal and Senior Management Team report to a Governing Body (Corporation) which is made up of Members from the local business and wider community, together with Staff and Student Members.

The Shipley College Corporation is governed by the "Instrument and Articles of Further Education Corporations" of Government as amended which came into effect on 1st August 2018.

For more on our values and aims, please see our Public Value Statement. If you require further information about the College Corporation and Committees, please contact Danielle Carter, Clerk to the Corporation, by email to dcarter@shipley.ac.uk.
