Many students are eligible for a full fee reduction depending on personal circumstances, such as what previous qualifications you have, if you currently claim certain benefits or are unemployed. There have also been changes to the Government’s National Skills Fund that means more people than ever can qualify for free courses.
There is also support through the Learner Support Fund if you are 19+ to help with the cost of course fees, equipment, travel, and childcare.
If you are in receipt of benefits and actively seeking employment or in work earning less than £21,255 annually (£18,525 annually if not from an eligible regional postcode), you may be eligible for 100% fee reduction.
If you don’t meet the criteria for this funding you then, for eligible courses, you may be entitled to the Learner Support Fund if the household income is less than £25,000 (to claim travel the household income threshold is £21,000). You must be 19+ as of 31st August and not have GCSEs grade A*-C or 9-4.
For anyone 19+ to help fund the tuition fees to study qualifications at Level 3 or Level 4. Repayments on the loan (Plan 2) don't start until you have completed the course and you’ll only repay when your income is over £524 a week, £2,274 a month or £27,295 a year (before tax and other deductions).
If you are aged 19-23, meet the residency criteria and do not already have any of the following qualifications listed here, you may be entitled to have your course fees paid for your first Level 2 course.

To apply for any of the fee reductions available, you need to live in the following West Yorkshire postcodes:
BD (with additional checks required for BD20, BD22, BD23 & BD24)
LS (with additional checks required for LS17, LS21-24 & LS29)
HX, HD, WF, OL14 and S72

When you enrol on a course with us, you need to provide proof of identification with one of the following;
• Valid Passport
• National Insurance Number (letter from DWP or NI Card)
• Valid UK Driving Licence
• Bank Debit/Credit Card
If you haven’t lived in the UK/EU for three years or more prior to the start of the course, you will need to provide one of the following to confirm your settlement status and also complete an eligibility form during enrolment;
• Non EU/UK passport
• Valid UK residence ID card
• Home Office letter confirming visa status
