Case Study -
    Bradford Social Services

Bradford Social Services are upskilling staff who work within local authority care homes, caring for the elder person. A cohort of 20 staff are being trained by Shipley College to Care NVQ2 under the subsidised Train to Gain initiative. As well as getting a nationally recognised employment linked qualification, this training supports staff in developing their basic skills such as written work and communication.

As the local Centre for Vocational Excellence (CoVE) for Care Sector courses, Shipley College is an obvious choice. The CoVE quality kite mark ensures that the training delivered meets the highest standards and that learners receive the support they need to successfully complete their qualification.

By using Train to Gain, staff development can be delivered free of charge, making significant savings for training budgets.  The eligibility criteria  are that this must be the first full level two qualification for the member of staff who must be over 25 years old,  employed within Yorkshire and within the sector relating to the training.

Shipley College can offer your organisation the same high quality subsidised training for staff completely free of charge providing they meet the eligibility criteria.

We are currently offering Train To Gain in the following areas:-

Care & Childcare
Business
IT
Horticulture
